David Lozano & Gaëlle de Prunelé: “Réminiscence chose boldness from the start”

Founded in 1970 in Juan-les-Pins, Réminiscence embodies a pioneering and timeless vision of perfumery. Recently relaunched, the house will present a refined collection of twelve fragrances—each as essential as it is contemporary—during Grasse Perfume Week. We spoke with CEO David Lozano and President Gaëlle de Prunelé.

What makes Réminiscence unique, in your view?

From its very beginnings, Réminiscence chose boldness: bold olfactory statements, sometimes divisive, created by using ingredients in extreme doses. This visionary approach is most iconically expressed in Le Patchouli, created in 1970 by Francis Camail under the impulse of Zoé Costes, the brand’s founder. A true olfactory manifesto, it has become a timeless reference, transcending trends without ever losing its allure. In 2025, we proudly celebrate its 55th anniversary.

What does the city of Grasse represent to you as the birthplace of perfumery?

Grasse is an essential anchor for us, the true cradle of olfactory creation. This is where the finest stories are born, thanks to the incomparable savoir-faire of its artisans. For Réminiscence, the connection is particularly strong: Robertet, based in Grasse, is behind several of our greatest successes, including Le Patchouli and Rem, our second olfactory pillar launched in 1996. Our ongoing exchanges with their teams constantly fuel our inspiration. There is a unique kind of magic in Grasse—walking through fields of rose, jasmine, or tuberose reconnects us with the very essence of our craft.

What are your expectations from participating in our event?

Our presence at the Paris Perfume Week last March led to wonderful encounters and a warm, enthusiastic welcome from both the public and professionals. With our Mediterranean roots and historic collaboration with Robertet, taking part in the Grasse Perfume Week felt like a natural choice.

It’s also an opportunity to showcase the soul of Réminiscence—its story, its icons, and its ability to reinvent itself without betraying its origins. More than just another industry event, the Grasse Perfume Week is a precious moment for dialogue with perfume lovers, experts, and the simply curious—one that allows the singular world of Réminiscence to shine.
